Cu Chi Tunnel, Vietnam

The Cu Chi tunnel was located about 40 km from Ho Chi Minh City and it took us almost two hours through scenic route out of the city.  We were told that it was dug with simple tools to provide refuge for the Vietnamese people from the American Soldiers.  Village were moved from above ground to the underground and life continues in the tunnel.

Though the part that we were led into was supposedly only 20 meters long and would take 3 - 5 minutes to crawl through, felt like an eternity. I suggest that you move slowly and pace yourself.  You may want to bring a flashlight or use your phone to light the way, it gets hot, stuffy and difficult to breathe inside the tunnel.  But then again we went in a bigger group so body heat and some panicky souls made the rest of us felt trapped.
